Let's Talk About Books! (The Crossing Places)
2:39 AMHello everybody!
I was thinking about what to write in this post. And I really wanted to write about a book that I really liked. So I thought like.. why not?
So in this post, we will talk about the book called The Crossing Places.
The Book Description :
When she's not digging up bones or other ancient objects, quirky, tart-tongued archaeologist Ruth Galloway lives happily alone in a remote are called Saltmarsh near Norfolk, land that was sacred to its Iron Age inhabitants- not quite earth, not quite sea.
When a child's bones are found on a desolate beach nearby, Detective Chief Inspector Harry Nelson calls Galloway for help. Nelson thinks he has found the remains of Lucy Downey, a little girl who went missing ten years ago. Since her disappearance he has been receiving bizarre letters about her, letters with references to ritual and sacrifice.
The bones actually turn out to be two thousand years old, but Ruth is soon drawn into the Lucy Downey case and into the mind of the letter writer, who seems to have both archaeological knowledge and eerie psychic powers. Then another child goes missing and the hunt is on to find her.
The Crossing Places marks the beginning of a captivating new crime series.
My Review :
Well, from earlier, I had a serious obsession with both Forensic Anthropology and Archeology. The writer didn't detailed talk about science in the book. But I can say that it is a book that deserves the awards that it received. You will read it until the end of the book without breathing.
And obviously, what I love about the book is, Ruth is a normal person. She is not perfect. She is a divorced, middle-aged and a bit over-weight woman. So don't expect a love like in Twilight, Hush Hush or other book series like that. Before I started this book, i was worried that I could get bored. Because I am a person who can get bored easily. But it didn't happen.
I love the idea of this series. It's a successful crime fiction.
I hope you enjoyed everyone, hope you enjoyed! See you on next Tuesday! -Sıla
